Did you successfully run the make and 'make install' commands for your wifi adapter driver?

Yes make, make install seemed to run fine. modprobe didn't return anything though, but no errors either.

this is another git site for your driver, at the bottom of the readme has some suggestions to fix problems.

Ah, thank you so much for this! I will check it out immediately. Do I need to uninstall the previous drivers somehow?

try the suggestion for networkmanager first, and if that doesn't work try one of the usb mode switches.

Ok so I've read a little about using make uninstall, but that only works if the author of the drivers chose to add an uninstall. My question is where do I run the "make uninstall" from? And also if I don't manage to uninstall it should I just try installing the new driver or am I better off reinstalling the entire OS?

In the same directory that you ran make and make install

That is what I would try first.

Posting this from Debian and I'm a happy camper. Thank you all for helping me with this. Now it's time to explore! :)
