NetworkManager : edit connections --> no access to eth0

When I go to NetworkManager > Edit Connections > Wired I see 1 interface 'eth0'. I am unable to hit the edit-button to, for example, assign a fixed IP. The button is greyed out...

When I go to the Wireless-tab I see the SSID of my wireless network and I can hit the edit-button to edit the connection like changing the connection name etc...

So how about the eth0-interface ?! Why is this connection 'locked' ?

Are you launching the app as root?

Use the network sysconfig dialog or edit the ifcfg-eth0 config files.

I am not running NetworkManager as root but in ifcfg-eth0 I have the following :
Code:

USERCTL=yes
PEERDNS=yes
NM_CONTROLLED=yes

I just check on Fedora 11, when run system-config-network, it prompt me with a dialog to enter root password from there I was able to make all the configurations I need. While you in system-config-network, and hit edit, disable Managed by network manager. I'll give you some pics as a reference, hold on.

I'm not using my eth0, I'm using wireless all the the time. I just installed the NetworkManager command line utility, cnetworkmanager and do my connections from there. For eth0, I do them in system-config-network. However, nm-applet should had allowed to manage you connections from there. Don't know why...

Yep, it beats me too. I can make another interface and this one is perfectly configurable...

I've added a screenshot which shows how the buttons are greyed out...
