I had a horrible time installing VMware 6 on the latest release of any distro. Is it possible to upgrade to Workstation 6.5? Your 6 key should work with 6.5 (downloadable from VMware.com). I found 6.5 to work flawlessly on Ubuntu, and openSuse.
