Networking Mac OS 10.2 with Mandrake 9.2

I am trying to network my Mac with Mandrake Linux to transfer files. I cannot seem to log on. I see the 'mdkgroup' workgroup in the 'Go (open apple-k)' menu, but when I try to connect I get the error code -50. It does not ask me for a password or username. Is there something I need to configure on my Mandrake computer before I can network my Mac?
