networking between web host and home computer

hello,
I want to know if it is possible for me to network my home computer to my web hosting server as they are both linux computers.

Basically want i want to do is connect my mysql database system to my web pages but without having to pay for the premium that the web host servicer charges and also as I want to use my database to generate mail address labels at my home.

Hi,
you can provided both are having LAN, under one internal network right? you mean whatever request comes to your webserver you want to use mysql database server for that which resides at your home computer. then just give database address pointing to your internal home host computer.

so do I need to give my home computer a new domain or can I use the one that is hosted on the remote web server.
