I use to have red hat 9.0 and I had my clock update its time according to a server on the red hat network. Is it possible to do this in SUSE 9.0? Do I need to install any additional software?

You can do it with either rdate or ntpdate.

Thanks for your help, while searching for the programs I came accross xntp. I configured /etc/ntp.conf and started the daemon with rcxntpd start. I don't always leave my computer on so when I restart I would like this daemon to restart also. Will this happen automatically or do I need to add it to some startup config file? Thanks again. eastj

The easy way is to enable it in Service Configurator (service-conf). Turn it on for whatever runlevel you are using, commonly 3 and 5). Then save your changes. You can also start the service from there if it isn't running already.
