Network setup problems in F10

I try to set up my network in F10, it has a proxy and all the good things. But after I introduce the values for the subnet mask and for the default gateway, I save and when I enter again in the setup, I find either nothing either other values (it is a litlle bit random, maybe I make a mistake somewhere ????).
Of course, I am not able to access the net.

Sounds pretty much like Fedora 9. Its Network Manager was absolutely useless when combined with a static IP address: now it would fail, then it would cause firefox to start up in offline mode. The only think that really worked for me was ripping out Network Manager altogether and using the more conventional /etc/init.d/network stuff. Then I had only 99 other issues left to solve lol.
