Hello All

I am hoping someone can help me. I am unbelievably new to Linux and would love to start "messing" with it. So far I have only gotten as far as figuring out how to get the kinks out during the installation. Now that it finally loads up correctly with no errors, I am having a problem connecting to the net.

I should say that I am running Red Hat 9 I believe, however I am running it on Microsoft's Virtual PC program that is in turn running on Windows Xp. I have no problem going online through XP, but I can't figure out how to do it on Linux. I checked the Virtual PC settings to try and somehow "transfer" my network settings from Xp over to linux but I guess it's not that easy. Or is it?

Can anyone help?

frank, under the virtual pc settings, set it to virtual switch (i think), whichever doesnt have a pulldown menu saying "local, external ...."

this should split your winxp connection and turn it into linux also
