Network Printer Won't Print

Hi, this is Joe. First what I have setup: Windows box -> IBM Thinkpad T23 running Xubuntu(sharing Internet with Windows box). I loaded the Hp D1300 driver because I have a D1320 HP printer. Driver loaded OK, but when I try to print the printer comes on but no printing. Someone asked me if the hplip was installed, I looked in Package Manager it looks like it is installed. The following is installed: hpijs, hplip, hplip-data, pxljr. I found the network printer when setting it up. I just don't know why it's not printing. Thanks Joe L.

Good Day Joe,
We had both the 3300 series & the 1300 series running under SuSE 8.2 & 9.2 on a network and because windows was involved we used Samba as the interface. The 3300 series required a print server while the 1300's did not. I had mine ( direct connection) print as a generic LP printer under LPT1 and after i got it to see the printer it worked fine. Try to set up a generic printer with the drivers you have and see if that gets you any closer. We did use one of the foo drivers. I'll look back and see if i can find which one.
