Network Printer on M$ network

I'm trying to configure a printer that is on a windoze 2k pro machine for my RH 9 (shrike) machine on a home network

I don't seem to get a connection.

also...I think the problem is that the Shrike machine is not part of the network....

1) what is the proper way to connect to a M$ network?

2) what is the proper way to connect to a printer on the M$ network?

I want to be a part oif the Linux revolution

They way I set this up to get all the linux and windows machines to print nicely to printers, is to install a print server with LPD whether its a hardware print server, a windows LPD emulated server, or a linux lpd server. Then on the windows machines you just add "Microsoft TCP/IP printing services." After that you can add the printers using the lpr port. I think in the long run those hp jetdirects are the easiest to set up and maintain.
