I have Suse 10 on one machine and w2k on another. Everything works fine until I try to access a file on the Suse box from the windows box. Then it wants a password. I've tried every password on my system and nothing makes it happy. What do I need to do?
Samba is running, I can see all of the computers on the network, I can see shared folders, I can access files on the windows box from the suse box without any problem. I just can't access files on the suse box from the windows box.
It is a users, groups thing on your Samba machine. I don't have it all figured out yet but I bet that if you set the global parameter security in your smb.conf to share it will get you going until you have time to figure out the users, groups stuff.
