Well, after some further searching around and reading some various tutorials, I figured out how to get things working ^.^
I'm posting this from the now-working machine, actually

Hi! As you can see, I'm a very new member on here, so please render me limb from limb or flame me to a charred shell ^.^;;

Anyhow, here's my question:
After a day of trying to get some sort of OS running on my new ASUS p4p800SE (complete with a P4e prescott at 3GHz) I finally managed to convince a copy of Drake 9.2 to run. (I think there's some weird issue with the IDE controller and windows... Fedora couldn't even load the initrd.img due to the problem :S Drake has has had no such problem ))

Stupidly I installed 9.2 and not 10, as 10 has the network drivers for my integrated LAN and 9.2 does not.
I would just upgrade to 10, but I don't want to mess with the system too much now that it's running. :S (Plus I'll learn things this way )

Conveniently, Asus provides me with a set of lan drivers for linux, but no readme, and as such I have no clue how to install them ^.^;

The zip (?) containing the drivers can be found on the asus website, which I can't link to because I have 0 posts. I will fix this and return to post the link ^.^;
If one of you kind people wants to go and hunt it down, you'd be amazing (P4P800SE, downloads)

I'm sorry to be so helpless :S
