Network configuration issue

A few minutes ago I installed slackware 12.2 and I was able to go online after configuring the network using DHCP. Anyways I enabled my wireless connection unplugged my ethernet cable to test my wireless card, and BAM!!! no internet at all, even with the ethernet cable. I tried /etc/resolv.conf & /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf but still no internet connection. I'm online using this boring vista OS asking for advise.
What to do now!!!

I rebooted my computer and I'm able to go online with linux now. simplest configuration I must confess. I was hopeing I wouldn't have to do that with Slackware but experience does have its pros
