Exclamation Network config

In a past project of mine I altered my network configurations in an attempt to interface it with some other computers. Well the project is finished and now I can't seem to restore my original settings. I have messed with it so much that I'm afraid that I've hosed any chance I had of restoring it to the original settings. This is what I know:

1) I can connect to the internet using windows xp on my other partition

2) On the Linux partition I can ping other servers successfully, but cannot view web pages.

The error I receive is something like "Name not found, please check the site name and try again"

By the way I am using Mozilla as my browser.....I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Maybe you can just add a "nameserver <ip address>" entry in /etc/resolv.conf
