network comm problem in Linux on HP-3330 MT

Dear Friends ,
I got a strange problem during installation Linux on HP machine .The Hp machine has the below configuration :

System model : HP Pro 3330MT
CPU : core i5
RAM : 8 GB
When I install any types of linux (Redhat, Oracle Ent Linux) onto this HP machine ,then Nic card is working
but when I set any ip of my network then it cannot connect with the other pc of my
network . Even if , it cannot ping my gateway address .

I also change my ip address but problem is not fixed up .

Then I format the server, remove the Linux OS and install windows operating system instead of linux , then
the ip can communicate with other pc easily .

I try this at least 5 times , everytime I see that windows does not make any problem , but linux makes problem .

Is there any idea regarding this issue ?

Need Expert opinion ..Thx ...

Do you have more than one interface active simultaneously? For example, we had a case sometimes when there was both mobile internet via USB dongle AND ethernet cable toward local network. If you don't tell it when to use which interface it can get confused and be unable to access other machines.

It sounds like you set the IP address manually/statically, and not via DHCP? In that case, have you made sure that the new machine is in the same subnet as the gateway? Otherwise it won't work.

Since it's a fresh install I guess it might not be the case, but could it be firewall issues?

How do you try to connect with other machines (when it works, and when it doesn't)? Are they configured to answer pings if that's the method?

Don't know if it matters, but are you using cable or wifi? (From your description I guess it's not mobile broadband.) Was it activated/plugged in when you installed?

Maybe a picture of your network including IP-addresses and netmasks and anything else you think might be useful would help.

(It will probably take a couple of days before I can check in again here)

Hmm.. I'm starting to get the feeling you might know more than me now when I saw that you've been around for some time..
