Network between Ubuntu on a VMware and Windoze
I am a neebee. And then some. But I'm slowly learning Linux and I must say I'm impressed! I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 on a VMWare virtual drive hosted by Windoze XP Home SP2. I am attempting to network the two so I can share between them. But when I load up my network places in Linux and attempt to start networking I don't see my Windoze set up at all. I habve Samba installed. Can someone suggest something? Thanks.

Check your Virtual Networking Settings, if your using NAT for the guest OS, change it to Bridge so the host and guest OS are on the same subnet.

I had to think...
I'm short on the capitalized letters. But I finally understand, I think. I'm bridge. I've used the winscp and installed it. It's the Samba I'm having a little trouble with now. It isn't easy ... being green ... and working in these two systems. Ubuntu seems MUCH more stable though. Finger's crossed. Now I have to try to figure out how to set up my printer.
