Network adapter fails to connect to the internet after I use Kali inside Virtual Box
Hello. I don't want to give away any personal details. I will say that I am new to linux. I started playing around with elementary OS and now I'm playing around with the tools inside Kali.
So here's the problem. Every time I boot up Kali Linux, then power off the VM, my network adapter gets messed up. I can no longer connect to the internet via my ASUS router unless I reboot the router. I used to be able to browse the internet on my main Windows 10 desktop AND my Kali box. One day, for seemingly no reason, I could only access the internet in my Kali box. Whenever I close my Kali box, I no longer have internet on my entire system. It's not enough to recede the USB TP-Link adapter I own. Nor is it enough to restart the computer. I NEED to restart my router. My virtual machine is in NAT mode so everything should have been ok on the VB end. I used to be able to put up with it, but now it's REALLY annoying. I don't want to restart my router and kick my family off the internet EVERY time I power down Kali. I must have done something in Kali because this problem does not happen with my Elementary OS box. How would I even begin to start figuring out what the problem is?

maybe your router recognizes a differently shaped traffic coming from the kali vm, and decides to block it?
so, maybe you can change the settings of your router? e.g. making the inbuilt firewall less strict, or adding an exception?

Is Elementary a VM too?
Is the host a laptop or a desktop?
The host and guest can not use a USB device at the same time. How is the TP-link configured? You state that kali is configured as NAT so there should be a virtual ethernet adapter that uses the host's ethernet or wireless adapter.

It's true that Kali can't use a USB network adapter at the same time as windows. I really just have to eject it, plug it back in and reconnect it. I don't understand why Kali can't share with windows if Elementary OS can.

It can. You need to configure Kali to use its virtual Ethernet adapter instead of USB.
