Question Netscape 7.0

You guys I hate to ask you this but I am going nuts. I have tried to install the new netscape 7 but I cant. I download it to my desktop and than extract the files. Please can someone give me a step by step on how to get this to work. I feel so stupid I cant even get a download to work. Maybe I am just not cut out for Linux.
Please help .
Thanks andy

Ps step by step for dummies, I am no dumb person but mandrake is starting to make me fee like it.

Thanks again

Hi

You must be logged in as root in order to have a global installation of netscape, if not you can install it where you have write permissions. I didn't understand if you have it already extracted or not so here it goes:

1. Open a console(the thing that seems similar to a dos console) and extract the archive by typing:

tar -zxvf netscape-i686-pc-linux-gnu-sea.tar.gz

2. Now change to the directory extracted by typing:

cd netscape-installer

3. Run the instalation script by typing:

./netscape-installer

4. Follow instructions that appear on new window created and thats it, like your installation directory, and type of installation.

Hi

When you open the shell you start at your home directory like /home/fulanito, to change to your desktop just open shell and type:

cd Desktop

then follow instructions i gave you.
