I downloaded the app called netpbm-10.18.12.gz
and placed it in a dir
then i did the following

gunzip netpbm-10.18.12.gz then hit enter.

then i get nothing

where did it go

I haven't found alot on how to install netpbm

can any one help me out please.

I dont know if this is right

as you know i typed in the following.

gunzip netpbm-10.18.12.gz

then i type in the following

./netpbm-10.18.12 and i get permission denied not sure if this is the right way.

is this because i uploaded it to a user account and has not been made root access

Hi, I need the answer to this question too!!! I've been trying to find some sort of installation instructions for shared hosting and nada!

This would be very useful for me on several of my sites if I could get it installed. I have a nice little script using system functions and pnmscale, cjpeg, etc., that only works on one hosting company's site and that hosting company sucks. I want to be able to use it on my preferred host. The system function works there, but there's no netpbm.

Can anyone give instructions on how to install netpbm on shared hosting? I uploaded the files, but don't know if that makes it 'installed' or if I need to do something else. Plus, don't know if I need to do something to my command in the script to tell it where to find the pnmscale command, etc.

Help?
