Netgear n600 wnda3100v2 wireless adapter- Linux User
Hi, it's been a while since I have been on this site so hello to everyone.
To the question, I am using a dual partition Ubuntu 13.04/ windows 7 PC. I currently purchased a Netgear n600 wnda3100v2 wireless adapter which came with a driver disk for windows only. I tried to use this device on Ubuntu, but it is not recognized. Ubuntu does not acknowledge that I plugged in the wi-fi adapter. How can I get Ubuntu to see this device and use it without being connected to the internet? Thank you Jonnynitro138 |
Basically you to run a new kernel with support for your device. Try new kernels perhaps and check other threads that already had a discussion about it like this one. There should many tutorials about recompiling and reinstalling a new kernel around the net just search.

Not a Real Solution
My solution to this very complicated piece of hardware was just to go out and get a different brand. I feel that if someone asks me in the future what kind of wifi card to get I will tell them "not a netgear."
Thank you for your answers they all were great. Jonnynitro138 |
Not an actual solution....
Buying something different and replacing it is not actually a solution to getting the equipment operating. It's a band-aid and a "I give up" fix.
If anyone has a real solution for this, please post it here. |
