Net Connection (Mobile Broadband) Problem in Ubnutu 9.04
 

Recently I Have Installed Ubuntu on my Desktop Pc. Everything was going on well but after installation When I am trying to connect with the internet using my NOKIA 3110c Mobile Phone the message displayed from the network icon that "

The Connection is established-You are now connected with AKTEL ( I am from Bangladesh & My operator is AKTEL)"

After that I opened my Firefox Browser but it displays error message and I also tried to ping but it shows-

Destination Unreachable

I Checked other settings for mobile broadband connection and it found ok.

Pls. Help me.

Ok. What does your DNS settings say? Look into resolv.conf for DNS settings.

Try this to see if your DNS are working or not:

nslookup www.google.com

And yes, post the output of nslookup here so that members can help you out if this not the case.

I tried with nslookup but without success

That what the problem is. You need to know the DNS servers for your service provider. Ask them and add those in resolv.conf and then you should be able to browse the net.
For the time being you can add 4.2.2.2 to resolv.conf and see if you can resolve the websites.

I have just added 4.2.2.2 as my DNS and its now working fine.

Good news. But you should nevertheless know the DNS servers for your provider. They would be geographically nearer to you and will have better response time.
