Just installed Neon, got an update today, 172 updates, selected "update all", after a few seconds got an error message,

cannot obtain lock E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a'

ran that in the terminal and it came back with

*********a@*******-All-Series:~$ dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: error: requested operation requires superuser privilege
*******@********-All-Series:~$

What's a Newbie to do???

Came to linux to escape the evil bill gates empire, don't wish to go back, would appreciate help

So, dpkg requires admin privileges. Do this:

and enter YOUR user password when requested. This is a privilege escalation request and is normal. I have never used Neon but believe it is a test bed for KDE. Not sure it will be 100% bug free but someone who actually uses it can better advise you.

Tried that didn't work for whatever reason, ended up just re-installed Neon and it updated but thanx just the same.
