Neither KWrite or Kate respond anymore

I have used KWrite and Kate many times to compare files content. However, they do not respond any more. I tried to locate them, with locate command and nothing happens. I used ./ and the answer is that the file or directory does noy exist. Became root and tried yum install and the answer is that there is not package KWrite available. Can any one please help me?

Normally, they would be in /usr/bin.

What distro are you referring to in your post?

The icon on your post says Fedora; by default, Fedora does not include KDE or KDE applications unless you have installed them subsequent to installing the OS. It would most likely have gedit for a text editor.

Fedora 10.Yes it has gedit too. These applications were installed when we acquired (4 years ago) this computer. I have used kwrite since them.

./kwrite in /usr/bin says:"symbol lookup error://usr/lib64/libQtDBus.so.4: undefined symbol: _ZN14QObjectPrivate15checkWindowRoleEv

I guess that the libQtDBus.so.4 was somehow erased.!?

Try to uninstall them and then re-install them.
