Hello everyone..I'm new to this site.. this is my first time posting a thread here...So, just what you have read above... I was planning to use Linux OS for a COMPUTER SHOP/INTERNET CAFE...Why? Because its free to use and will save me a lot of money...But the problem is that, i'm not familiar with linux.. so i really don't know if it is good to use on an internet cafe...here's what i want...plz give me suggestions about:

*the best linux os (where all/most online games will run smooth.. such as cabal,flyff,neosteam,War3TFT etc..)

*about networking (is setting up a lan using linux os different from windows xp, if so.. plz tell me what to do... i have 10PC Clients + 1 Server PC)

Any help would be appreciated.. if you have other suggestions that you think will help me w/ this... feel free to post it here... i really need it... that's all, thanks... ^_^

There are some way cool Linux desktop distros made especially for that use. Google "kiosk Linux" and check some out. PUD is ideal for internet cafe use and works on even ancient machines.

I recently came upon this company called Linutop at a trade show. They have these energy-efficient Ubuntu-based desktops with a pre-installed kiosk software so that sounds like something that would give you want you want and save you time.

Hi M dz3r.r0n3L welcome to the community, for a newbie serving a lot if potential newbies then I would stick with Ubuntu or Mint to begin with.

Once you gain a bit more experience then building a custom system like Arch may be perfect for your specific needs. But till then stick with Ubuntu or Mint.

Ps if your computers are older and slightly low on speed/memory etc then you may want to try Xubuntu, lighter than standard Ubuntu but with plenty of features.

You may find www.ltsp.org worth a look. I believe if you google about you'll find some articles dedicated to Linux Internet Cafes; I've definitely seen the qn asked before.

If you look for "internet cafe" you'll get some ideas, and there's even some special software for managing one.
