Need some help with QNX
I know these forums are for linux, but I need some help, so sorry about that.
I have never used linux yet. I just got an external modem so I can use dialup with QNX(newbie at qnx too). I am having a problem connecting to my dialup isp. I can set up the dialer no problem. It dials and connects to the server, but won't authenicate my username and password. I managed to connect once. I checked my default gateway in windozes and then went into qnx and entered the address in the default gateway in the network settings. I connected no problem and thought I had it figured out, but I just got lucky with the number. I have a dynamic ip address so my default gateway changes each time. Therefore I can't connect unless I can predict what my default gateway is going to be. If I had a static ip address, I believe I wouldn't have a problem. I have the dialer setup for automatic, but I tried interactive too, but that didn't help. I don't know how to make a script either or what settings to put in the script. Also whenever I enter network settings, and click apply, they dissapear. I can't save the settings. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. the qnxstart forums are down right now. Thanks |
I messed around a bit with some network settings and connected once. However I just got lucky and couldn't connect any more than that.
I kept on trying and finally was able to log on for some reason. I figured something was buggy. So while I had the chance, I went to the qnx online repository and downloaded some updates. that I think have fixed the problem. I have been able to log on 4 times so far without a problem. I am posting this from qnx right now. So I am assuming it is buggy software that was/is causing the problem and not much I can do about it if it starts to mess up again. Thanks, I would say this problem is resolved. |
