Unhappy need some help in slackware

need some help on trying to set up kmail for the home user and how to use slackpkg i can get it to dl but not install also when i try to install thunderbird or fire fox it tells me that it cant due to the file does not end in .tgz

if you want to use packages, take a look here. tons of stuff here, including firefox and thunderbird.

then use installpkg to install

you'll have to be more specific on the kmail problems.....

Which Firefox and Thunderbird did you download them. If they're the default ones from the Mozilla Web site, you don't use the Slack package management toold, they have their own installers. Un-tar the .tar.gz with "tar -xzf <filename>" and then change to the newly extracted directory and run the installer.
