Need some FTP server help...
 

I'm a complete newbie, and I'm using openSuSE 10.0 (text mode) and Pure-FTPd as my server.

I've been doing some extra reading and I was also wondering whether I had to set up a MySQL database for virtual user logins.

Also, how would I be able to connect to that FTP server remotely using the created virtual user accounts? So far I'm only able to log in to it, within my network, with the linux system login and the router assigned ip address.

I recently converted to nix too and had problems setting up an ftp and remote logins.
The ftp and ssh tutorial at http://shilo.is-a-geek.com/slack/ftp17.html were really simple and helpfull, followed the guide and got both of em up within an hour. I dont know if its
only for slackware but it doesnt hurt to try.. gd luck..
