Need recommendation for usb tv card to use with Toshiba Tecra M1 laptop

I am planning on using Kubuntu 8.04 on my laptop (Toshiba Tecra M1, 1,4 ghz) and hope to be able to watch cable TV using a usb TV card. Don't know if this is possible with such a low powered cpu but if it is I would appreciate suggestions for usb TV cards which will work.

Not a USB, but you might want to look at the HDHomerun. It is a dual digital tuner that runs over Ethernet. Minimal load on cpu. You just watch the stream like any other, using you favorite stream player (VLC etc). It also works with MythTV and most other PVR software.

Thanks very much farslayer. Found Hauppauge WinTv PVR USB2 which seems to fit thee bill.

From Farslayer's link:

Quote:
Hauppauge PVRUSB2 (not to be confused with the wintv-usb2)
Which would raise the red flag for me on the wintv-usb2. So be careful that you get the PVR model.

Just in case you're searching a small software to watch tv with ivtv or pvrusb2 based tv-cards you could have a look at this one.
