Need recommendation for good Linux reference (ubuntu and Fedora)

I'm an experience UNIX user (or was, because I've been stuck supporting Windows applications for several years). My company now plans to support Linux as a platform (ubuntu and Fedora). Do you have recommendations for a good Linux reference to use? I've used the O'Reilly UNIX quick reference in the past, which was helpful but not too in-depth. I'd like something that answers both simple and more complex questions.

Your core UNIX knowledge is still valid. What you really will need is some experience with distribution and windows manager specific things. The only reasonable way to get that is to install your choice of Linux on a spare PC and start playing around with it. Both Ubuntu and Fedora have quite good support by their communities, so in most cases you will be able to google quick answers to your questions.

There's a stack of free online guides/howtos etc here http://www.linuxtopia.org/
See also the home site for each distro.
