need in depth instructions

im needing in depth instructions on how to install linux on my computer so i can duel boot linux and windows. my friend said that ubuntu makes a partition by itself. but i downloaded it and im not sure what to do.

If you google up Ubuntu installation, there are a lot of websites that show you step-by-step on how to install Ubuntu and what to do. Some sites even have pictures to aid you.
