Need help with Xconfigure - Ubuntu

Hello, I've installed Ubuntu as my desktop PC because I've had it with MS Windows! Someone mentioned to me, Wine a Windows Emulator. I've successfully installed that and already installed Dreamweaver CS3. My screen is too big and thick with a resolution of 1024x768 I think, it's really bugging me, I'd like the resolution set to 1280x1024 but how can I setup my monitor and resolution...

Monitor: ViewSonic VE710b
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT
Linux Distro: Ubuntu Feisty Fawn

You can reconfigure the graphics card settings by running
$sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
