need help with linux

hi can anyone help me with linux i have just got a asus ee pc with linux on and have found out i cant put shockwave on linux which i need.does anyone know another progam that would work as good as shockwave.also how to get sound to work on pidgin messanger.

Why can't you put shockwave on? What error does it give you?

Does sound work on any other programs, maybe like on youtube? If not, then you need to configure your sound card by making sure you have the right modules, or by maybe running certain programs to make sure that u're volume levels aren't muted. There's a whole process, but to begin, start by saying what linux distribution you have on your pc.
