Need help with lexmark s305 printer. Cant seem to get the driver to install
 

I just bought a printer for my computer but it dosent seem to want to install only because it says to give authetication and below that it says.
"this operation requires root (administration) privileges. please enter administrative password below"


Sooo i enter my password i use to log on to my computer thats the only password my computer has but it says incorrect How do i get past this it dosent make sense. PLease help

The icon in your post says that your browser user agent reported that you are using Ubuntu. (Gosh, looking back, that is a horrible bunch of geek-talk in one sentence.)

You probably need to enter a terminal and use sudo. It will ask for your password.

ok i did get it.. i was using sudo i just wasnt following directions well. i took the file moved to desktop used sudo desktop and installed it from there it worked so now my printer is working. only thing left im trying to do but heard is not posible with ubuntu is connect the wifi that comes with the printer. instead im using a cord but id rather use the wireless.
