Need help with extracting the kernel sources

I'm using Mandrake Linux 8.1 and I downloaded the Linux kernel 2.4.8 kernel source archive from, but the file name ending is ".bz2".

What do I require to extract the kernel sources to /usr/src ?

You can extract that compressed file by using the bunzip2 command:

bunzip2 *.bz2
