need help with evolution

hello...there

i m using RH9 in graphical mode and i use a broadband connection. i just configured an account in evolution but when i press the SEND/RECEIVE button the following error message pops up...

"Error while 'Fetching Mail':
Could not connect to POP server mail.dhaka.net (port
110): Connection refused"

can any1 help me pleaz........

Mail.dhaka.net seems to be a popserver (I just checked). Could it be you blocked outgoing traffic to port 110 on your firewall?

Most ISP pop-servers allow telnet. Try testing your connection by typing:

telnet mail.dhaka.net 110

And if it gives you the same connection, most likely your firewall is blocking you from recieving email. I just did the same command and it worked for me just fine.
