Need help with bluetooth on Ububtu 16.04

I recently installed ubuntu 16.04 and am unable to get the bluetooth working. I have tried several suggestions I found on the net but so far nothing has worked.

Tried it and did not work. I have tried numerous solutions and none of them worked so I guess I will just throw in the towel on bluetooth.
Thank you AwesomeMachine for your link even tho it did not work for me

Given you have not gotten much help so far;

Do you have a bluetooth adapter connected to your system?

If so, why don't you tell us which bluetooth device you have, how it's connected to your system and which "guides" you have followed. At least the first two things I mentioned, if nothing else.

If you do have a bluetooth device and it's being seen by Linux (and is supported by Linux), it's probably a configuration issue of some sort. I remember when openSUSE had bluetooth issues if you used KDE, because the BlueZ port wasn't available for KDE at the time - or something similar. (from memory - a long time since I've used openSUSE)

But without knowing more details, it's hard to say exactly what your problem is.

That juat shows how much of a novice I am. It was the lack of a bluetooth adapter. Thanks again for your help.

Finally after weeks of frustration discovered what my bluetooth problem was. It looks like the adaptor I had did not work with the motherbosrd on my computer after searching the Internet I purchased a KINIVO RTD-400 bluetooth adaptor and it works great and has a very reasonable price.
