Need help with 7.04 and DWL G122 Connection

I installed ubuntu 7.04 (aka feisty) a few days ago now but have no idea how to fix my lack of internet connection. For days, every spare moment, I've been running back and forth between this computer, which is running my DI 524 router, and the ubuntu one which is hooked up via the DWL G122 adapter (USB), trying various terminal commands etc., but to no avail. As much as other's problems sound like my own, there is invariably something different that doesn' t work when I try.
Here is my lshw

I've tried repeatedly to identify the card, but none of the commands I've seen work. Bad command.
I've tried setting up the static IP, switching to DHCP, etc., but none of it works and as soon as I exit the Network screen, the changes all reset themselves again to blank. I've tried pinging but it's all zeros.

Please help any way you can, thank you.

is it on? or do you need to install the drivers?

I've been through a lot in the past 24 hours, but basically I installed ndiswrapper, build essential, the drivers from the install cd of my wireless adapter. I've disabled IPV6, turned aspci off and if- and iwconfig a lot. I've been searching other sites as well but no one's problem is the same sa mine as far as driver, chipset, adapter and version of ubuntu. I've gotten some help elswhere but so far nothing has worked. I followed a long line of commands smoothly but then I came to:
gksudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.1st
and it was blank.
Someone else suggested sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.1st but it too was blank. I still don't know if that proposed edit would have helped or not.
Any ideas? I'll post whatever info is needed.
