Need help to setup mail server

I'm new to linux. I managed to set up a samba server for my home network of 3PC (all XP) and it's working well. The next step is to set up a mail server so that I can:

1) Access the same mail from all PCs (using Outlook)
2) Fetch mail from hotmail a/c onto local server (I managed to get fetchmail and hotwayd working)
3) Send mail thru my hotmail account from my PC (thru hotsmtpd?)

What is a good source to read up on this? I've got various source on the web but it's really not helping a great deal. I need help on setting hostname, domain names etc. etc. too!
