Need help setting up my wireless network settings

I tried posting in the Mandrake forum, but I received no replies over the last few days in this thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=208903 so since I have always gotten my questions answered in here, I thought I would try my luck over here! I hope no one minds the double post.

I think SSID is setup in your config scripts (/etc/pci/wireless.opts or something like that). For encryption... the same thing... If you find config scripts, evrything will be easier ;)
About startup script, I can't tell you precisely because I've never used MDK10... but if module insertion at startup is enough for you see /etc/modules.conf and of course "man modules.conf"... If you want to do other than inserting modules, see /etc/init.d directory and also /etc/rc5.d/ if your default runlevel is 5...

anyone have anything more specific to add? I really need the help!

Also, I was able to add the modprobe commands into the modprobe.preload file and the wireless network now comes up at boot. However, I still need help with the SSID and encryption because I cannot find those settings anywhere.

On a semi-related note, I have run across another startup problem. I added a swap partition after Mandrake was installed and I can go into HardDrake and mount the swap partition, however, when I reboot, the partition is not mounted. Anyone know of a way to have that swap partition mounted at startup?
