Need help reporting a bug

Well I went and looked at getting the first updates for my Mepis 6.0
I decided not to get any as I learned that if I see "open " at the end of any. I should abort. So I aborted.
Then I chose to shut down the computer, and when I did I saw on the screen, a message stating:
KDE Panel (kicker) caused signal 11 SIGSEGV and I need to report this and or mail the author.

Well I have never seen that statement before in the 6 weeks I have been running Mepis 6.0!
So How do I find the author? and then How do I contact him/her,? and get a "fix" for this????

I will never again, even make an attempt, at updating the computer, it was running fine!

Please help how do I correct this? Who do I have to contact?
Thanks,
flywelder

You are worrying too much for that message!
It's only reporting that kde was not properly terminated. I would worry about that if it shows every time you close kde.

I suggest to reconsider your decision of not update your pc. If your repositories are the default ones you running no risk. On the other hand you will have your system relatively up to date.

You can report this bug in the website http://bugs.kde.org/
