Need help partitioning redhat 9.0!!!

I have made a partition on my hard drive (/dev/sda3). Now I need help formatting it to vfat. But when I tried using this command:

mkfs -t vfat /dev/sda3

I had this error:

mkfs.vfat 2.8 (28 Feb 2001)
mkfs.vfat: Attempting to create a too large file system

I think that it doesnt support the size of partition I made, which wasnt that big (not more than 25gb).

I now want to know how to overcome this error and create my Fat32 partition.

Thanks,
Mike

I hate to recommend it (as there may be copyright problems) but you could use a Windows boot disk to format it, then mount it in linux. Fat and Fat32 are after all Microsoft filesystems..

Yeah I think I might be able to do that. I have almost every version of Windows on cd. But the problem is that right after it formats it directly installs it.

But I'll give it a shot.

Thanks, Mike

Ok. I tired using my windows 98 boot disk to format the drive but it only recognizes 8025mb of the drive. So I went online and found a version of fdisk that was supposed to work with up to 128gb of space. However this fdisk has the same problem. So im stuck once again. Any more ideas would be great thanks.
