Exclamation Need help on Backtrack , while installing ndiswrapper failure occurs

bt ~ # cd ndiswrapper-1.53
bt ndiswrapper-1.53 # install
install: missing file operand
Try `install --help' for more information.
bt ndiswrapper-1.53 # make
make -C driver
make[1]: Entering directory `/root/ndiswrapper-1.53/driver'
Makefile:34: *** Cannot find kernel version in /usr/src/linux-, is it configured?. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/ndiswrapper-1.53/driver'
make: *** [all] Error 2

currently using Dell D430, trying to install this file for my dell wireless interface card, which is not auto installed. may someone please explain to me why linux does not self install the wireless 1395 NIC and is ndiswrapper compatible for all wireless cards?

please help me out with the installation error.

i am currently running Backtrack 3 Linux that uses slackware linux.

Best regards,
