Need Help Naming a Video Card and Finding Drivers!

I have a new Linux pc and I've fitted an NVIDIA graphics card given to me by a friend.

Typing 'lspci' in the Linux terminal gives: 'N17GL Quatro NVS'

The label on the card reads: PNY Technologies VCQ4200NVS - PCI

I've done some searching but can't find a download link for drivers when I look for the above details.

Can someone point me to where I can find the Linux drivers for what appears to be an obscure or no-longer-supported card?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you are using Ubuntu. If so, follow these steps (I'm not using Ubuntu - so this is from memory):

Go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers

Next, "Enable" the Nvidia driver and, once it has downloaded and installed, reboot the system.

It [should be] that easy in Ubuntu.

That works. The NVIDIA card is now recognised. Only one monitor is showing an image when the system boots up. In Bios mode, both monitors are 'awake' so the card seems good. I'll need to search for a manual for this card.

Thanks for your help...

There should be a menu item called Nvidia Settings where you can now enable twin view.

Don't forget to add to my reputation if this all helped :)
