Alright the first Issue I had was that after the install I could manuver around and do everything but my mouse cursor was missing. What I mean is that it was there but it was invisible. So I reinstalled mandriva again. This time it locked up at the mandriva 2005 screen and would not load KDE. This last time that I installed it I get funky lines and crap all over the screen like the Video Card isn't doing its job. I really want to make the switch to Linux but I can't even get it installed.

1 GB DDR Ram
Geforce 6800
Audigy 2zs SoundCard
160 GB Hard Drive

hi, no idea about the mouse.

I was going to suggest you install again, but when
comes the screen with this 10 or so boxes where you
can review the configuration, go on the video card driver
and select the vesa driver,
also start with 1024*768

You should be able to boot.
Once you have booted, click on the terminal icone (the black small screen)
Type
dmesg
look for any indication about the mouse
(scroll up down <shift><arrow up/down>

My guess is that the mouse problem is linked to the video driver

there was a problem at some point for the 6800 GT
