Question Need help finding drivers and installing HP Laserjet Pro M12w printer on Deepin 15.5

Although I've heard HP is supposed to be a Linux friendly printer, I have been trying, without success, to find out how to locate the correct drivers and install my HP Laserjet Pro M12w printer. I've read that I need the "foo2zjs.tar.gz" download for this printer but apparently it is supposed to used with something else and I have no idea what step-by-step procedure to follow and hopefully any needed procedure will not involve the use of "Terminal". Help, someone, please!

You need the hplip package, which practically all Linux distros provide via their package managers. Most HP printers can be installed directly using the cups administration pages once this package is installed.

The m12w is a fairly new model. HP will eventually add it to hplip. It doesn't appear to have been added yet. But it might work if you install hplip and add it via cups.

I have a newer HP and I couldn't use the hplip package already installed, I needed a newer version. I would check your version, HP has a list of every printer and which version of hplip it needs. Since this is my first post I can't post the link, I'll put the link in a post after this one. Hope it helps!

Thumbs down LinuxMint

I have same problem today, trying to print document. I heard this printer does not work with LinuxMint yest, but works with Fedora.
