Need Help Fedora Core 3

I know this is something stupid but I cant figure out why my system does this when it loads up there is no sound until I go to the menu and hit soundcard detection then my sound comes on all of a sudden is there a way to fix this so that it stays on after rebooting and powering on. Also there is probably ways to get my onetouch keys and my volume up/down/mute buttons to work on my Hp ze4420 laptop if so could someone tell me where to go to find out how to get these buttons to work... One last thing my computer doesnt recognize cdroms why would it do that???

I had the same problem with sound when I ran Fedora. I was using ALSA that they gave me, but when I recompiled it from source it worked a lot better.

To get those keys to work, you'll need to google for "lineakd" . That's what I use for my laptop.
