Need Help Configuring Suse 10 On My Dell Latitude Cpx J750gt

Sorry for the re-posting the same question. I felt that i couldn't explain my problem well ine my earlier post. I recently installed SuSE 10 on my Dell Latitude CPx J750GT Laptop which has ATI RAGE Mobility (DELL) 8Mb video card. Now, while installing i selected the default provided options as i thought that if something goes wrong then i could configure later as well.

Now, after the installation is finished, SuSE gives me a max resolution of 800x600, where as my laptop supports 1024x768. In order to check on this, i opened YaST control center->Hardware->Graphics Card and Monitor option and i see that the Display Card selected by SuSE is: ATI Mach64LM/Dell and Monitor is VESA 800x600@60Hz [Screenshot] which is wrong, so i tried first change the Display card and see if i can find and ATI RAGE Mobility (DELL) with 8Mb, but to my surprise i only get to change the options for ATI Mach64LM/Dell. Since, i couldn't change this video card, i then went into monitor section and selected following (you can even find the screenshots at the bottom):

I dont know where to find the horizontal and vertical frequencies for my laptop monitor and so i didnt changed the default provided ones. Now after saving these options and select Resolution as 1024x768 (XGA) and Colors as 16.7 Mio. [24 Bit] and test then i screen gives me such weird colors and i feel that the display is changed to wide screen and to get out of this i have to manually press alt+ctrl+bkspace.

Can anyone please help me solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Try to run sax2 from command-line in runlevel 3. Change to console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 and login as root, then type 'init 3', then 'sax2 -m 0=<driver>'. As <driver>, you could try 'radeon'. Try also other frequencies in the monitor section. As far as I remember, one could specify the screen dimensions by simply measuring the screen with a ruler (not sure if this was still possible in 10.0). To try the settings, type 'init 5' or 'startx'.
