I want to learn basic unix commands and basic shell scripting.

Those are some great links. Here is another link that I found helpful http://cli.learncodethehardway.org/book/ ... it helped me learn a very basic base.

Just thought another link wouldn't hurt...more helpful sources the better, right?

You will find several useful guides at The Linux Documentation Project.

I particularly recommend Garrels's Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide and BASH Guide for Beginners. There is also Cooper's Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide. They are available in multiple formats on this page.
