Need Guidance of how to get started in Linux

Hello guyzzz,

This is Kuul actually i m new to this forum, I am currently working in a MNC in control-m technology but want to pursue Linux as my career for the future,
I just don't know how to get started like what is the first step to carry forward to....
I need certain guidance like what is the basic level from where i can start.
so request you to kindly guide me onto it.....

Hi Welcome to the Forums.
First step in my opinion will be install a Gnu/Linux distribution in a computer. You can do that by purshasing a computer just for Linux or split the hard drive in your current machine to do a dual boot setting with Linux and whatever operating system you currently have installed in.

If your plan is use Linux in a corporated world then choose one of the enterprise linux flavor such as Red Hat or from Novell. You can actually dowload and install distros like CentOS or OpenSuSE which are community mantained but follow very close to their interprise roots.

If you have questions you can always post them here and you can also do web searchs on the topic.
