need drivers for riptide 417na
 
I have upgraded a hp pavillion 4473 but thee sound card does not seem to work it has a riptide 417na in it help !!

The sound device in that machine appears to be a combo-device from Connexant; it's a combo audio/communications device.

According to Google, there is a/multiple Connexant Riptide drivers for Linux, offered by Connexant.

Check the results at the link I provide here, and follow instructions on identifying exactly your device, and next to locate a specific driver for your exact hardware, if there is one.

If you can locate a driver which is reported to work for your hardware, and have further troubles trying to install or configure it, please provide further info and we will do our best to help further.

I had an old HP that I compiled the riptide drivers from linuxant. The problem was that it was a modem/soundcard combo. These compiled fine on Debian Woody and Sarge, but I'm not sure if they'll work with the newer kernels. My old HP went to that great big landfill in the sky...
